If you click to clear the following check box entries, you can often reduce the number of steps that are necessary to remove all of the startup files that are listed in the Selective Startup section on the General tab in System Configuration Utility and then restore the check boxes by halves:

1. Click to clear any third-party drivers that are listed in the Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files.
2. Click to clear any lines that end in a .386 file extension in the [386Enh] section of the System.ini file.
3. Click to clear Load= or Run= entries (if any are present) in the [Windows] section of the Win.ini file.
