To set up your Internet mail account, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start and point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Mail icon.
  3. In Internet Accounts, click Add.
  4. Type your display name and click Next.
  5. Type your e-mail address as in the example and then click Next.
  6. Type the mail server names (get this information from your
  7. Internet Service Provider), and click Next.
  8. Type your e-mail account name and password if required, and then click Next.
  9. Type a name for your Internet account. Click Next.
  10. Click to select the connection type and click Next.
  11. Click Finish.
  12. Close the Mail control panel and close the Windows Control Panel.
NOTE: Keep all of your e-mail account information stored in a convenient location for future reference. If any of your configuration files become damaged, you should remove each of your e-mail accounts from the Internet Accounts Manager, and then add each one back.

NOTE: You are unable to use Outlook as your e-mail client with America OnLine services (AOL). AOL uses a proprietary e-mail system and does not provide a transport service that can be used with Outlook.
