Use the following procedures to understand how to perform a basic restore using Windows 2000 Backup.
To perform a basic restore

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Backup.
  2. Click Restore, and then, in the console tree, click the backup media that you want to restore.
  3. In the Restore files to list, select the location to where you want the files restored. By default, the location specified is Original location.
  4. Click Start Restore.
  5. In Confirm Restore, click Advanced to specify advanced restore options, or click OK to start the restore.

  6. In Enter Backup File Name, ensure that the backup file name matches the backup set file name from which you want to restore. If you want to specify a different file, click Browse, and then specify a different file.

  7. Click OK to start the restore.
