In order to build bootable diskettes with which to run a standalone version of DiskImage 2002 two conditions need to be met.
The first is to provide an environment that can support NTFS, FAT and FAT32 formats. This is required in order that disks can be read from and written to.
The second is provide DOS support for USB connections. The backup media is an external hard disk attached via a USB connection.

By building a boot diskette with a Windows XP system the first condition is met.

The following files are then required in order to satisfy the second.

The last 4 files can be obtained from a DiskImage 2002 bootable diskette that can be made from an option on the Autorun menu. The diskette should be built without any CD support options being taken. The Config.sys file then need to modified to include the following statements Alternatively , download these files in zip format and copy them to the XP boot diskette.
