This program is a start-to-finish solution that lets you record and edit podcasts, create RSS feeds, and upload the finished product via a built-in FTP client, all in one interface.

Audacity: The general purpose software option

Audacity is a free, open-source multi-track audio editor and recorder that is widely used by podcasters. It's available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
